We are:

Loudoun Coalition Against Power Lines, a dedicated community group working to prevent the construction of new high-voltage transmission lines close to our homes, neighborhoods, and open spaces across Loudoun County, now and in the future.

Our roots began with a small cluster of homeowners in Loudoun Valley Estates, facing the severe impact of a proposed power line route. We quickly realized this wasn't just about one street or one neighborhood. It's about protecting the safety, well-being, and property values of all Loudoun County residents.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to advocate for responsible energy infrastructure development that prioritizes the health and safety of our communities. We believe that critical infrastructure should not come at the expense of our quality of life or the value of our homes. We are committed to ensuring that Loudoun County remains a desirable and safe place to live, free from the detrimental effects of high-voltage power lines in close proximity to residential areas and cherished natural spaces.

What We Do

The Loudoun Coalition Against Power Lines works to achieve its mission by:

  • Educating Residents: Providing clear, factual information about the potential impacts of high-voltage power lines, including health concerns, property value depreciation, and environmental disruption.

  • Advocating for Safer Alternatives: Engaging with utility companies, local government, and regulatory bodies to explore and promote alternative routes and technologies that minimize community impact.

  • Mobilizing Community Support: Uniting homeowners, residents, and local organizations to present a strong, unified voice against harmful power line proposals.

  • Protecting Our Future: Working proactively to establish policies and guidelines that ensure future energy projects respect community well-being and maintain the character of Loudoun County.
